Reflections on the role of women in PNG elections
The glory of APEC: even the sick shunted away mid-treatment

The creative subclass

Creative minds are of a subclass,
Who dwell with everyday mortals,
But lead a regimented life,
To create magic with the mundane.

They aren’t from Mars,
Nor aliens in mortal suit,
But sane souls on fire,
With grand dreams.

They rise with dawn’s light,
In morn’s eternal silence,
And work as masses doze,
These thinkers in creative space.

They make the banal shine,
Translate the ordinary to divine,
And weave creative magic,
Making this earth heavenly.

In the brain, they mint poems,
Pen lofty and elegant tomes-
Create digital revolution,
And produce a myriad marvels.

They adorn the earth as with pearls,
And uplift and inspire the masses,
Transporting them to sunlit uplands,
Through their creative magic.

Hi Phil - Thank you for your positive vibes. I taught myself to read and write poetry. My poems are a work in progress.

I learnt much from the PNG Attitude blog in trying to improve my writing. I am grateful for the many writers of poetry in this blog who have greatly influenced my thinking and writing.

I have also learnt much from the lucid prose and poetry from the pens of many who contribute to this blog including you, Keith Jackson, Rashmii Bell, Chris Overland, Michael Dom, Wardley Barry, Robin Lillicrapp, Dean Jordan and many others. To you all I say, thanks a zillion!

I'm starting to enjoy your poetry Simon, the last few published ones have been extremely good.

We might have to slot you into the PNG Attitude pantheon of poets.
