Can’t say I’m enjoying some of the waffle pouring out from government on the myriads of benefits APEC is bringing to PNG.

After all 'The whole idea of APEC is trade liberalisation and to trade freely' said APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) chairman David Toua in a National report of 2/8/18.

In November would love the delegates to be allowed to see life for the majority of PNG’s citizens. If only they could be allowed to drive freely around PNG.

Perhaps to visit its second city Lae where last week one of its primary schools had to close due health fears. It has had no water for its 1,000 pupils since October 2017.

Or Daru hospital where nurses have contracted TB possibly due lack of face masks and other basic nursing items.

Feedom comes, feedom flows, APEC looms, money shows,
but beyond, where much lacks, bare hopes cost, cash flow slacks,
beyond range, past isle shore, schools have lost, aidposts more,
be true eyed, meet slough speak, so what’s real, reaches peeks.

APEC will certainly place PNG in the spotlight but what people see might be a different matter.

Why isn’t the ABC up there doing what you guys are doing?
