BEN Jackson has been appointed managing director of the Queensland-based media and communications firm, Jackson PR Associates.
He takes over from his father, Keith Jackson AM, publisher of the PNG Attitude blog and a founder of the Crocodile Prize, who established the firm in Sydney in 1991. Keith will remain with the company.
Jackson PR conducts much of its business in Papua New Guinea as well as Australia.
Among its major clients are Bougainville Copper Limited (BCL) and Sime Darby Plantation, one of the world’s largest agri-businesses.
Jackson PR Associates specialises in strategic communications, media and government relations, issues management and social media strategy.
In 2012, it was spun off from Jackson Wells Communications, which for 20 years was one of the largest public relations companies in Australia.
Ben, 27, has worked with the firm for seven years and specialises in communications strategy and social media. He is a regular visitor to Papua New Guinea.
Among other activities, on behalf of BCL he publishes and edits the Bougainville 24 website, which has more than 20 Bougainvillean contributing writers.
