A sad story indeed. But they are all heroes to their country and to the people of New Guinea in defending it during the Pacific War in WW2.

It is indeed fitting for these war heroes to be finally laid to rest at home in the US.

I visited the Arlington War Cemetery some years back. I thought it was a beautiful spot for the final resting place of all US war heroes.

The only other crew member identified was Staff Sergeant James B Moore of Woburn (right front) - KJ
