I think that Mr Clark (never known as Roy to us students!) taught Physics in 1971-72. Mr Edmonds taught Chemistry. Great to hear that he is still active, mind you, he is not that much older than us I think. He was a great teacher. Another Balmain connection - Eric Hawcroft was deputy principal of Balmain TC at the time and is still alive and reasonably well, aged 94 on 1 January. Whatever happened to Mr Saxby and Mrs Newcombe?

Your special edition of The Mail is fascinating. There’s obviously a really interesting history of ASOPA. It may well have been written up, but if not – what a great yarn.

It could also be translated to radio and television – with a cast that includes John Kerr and James McCauley.

Two names that caught my attention were Cliff Turney (a great support to me at Sydney University) and Peter Lawrence (also Sydney Univ) – if it’s the same one. He was a delightful little fellow. Cliff died soon after retiring and I think Peter died while still a professor.
