During my last visit to the towns of Goroka and Madang in January 2017, the only development(retail) I saw was a growth in the number of Chinese/Asian owned and run supermarkets cum trade stores.
Speaking with friends and family, it was dismaying in the very least to hear about the decline in services to the remoter regions of PNG. Not surprised at all to see a decline on the larger scale as described above because it is certainly obvious from the small end of town that things are crook and getting worse!

Down-hilling warrants up-skilling.

Time to chop up some credit cards I think.
