Claws with nails
Clamps with claws
Crown on tree tops
Digs deep into woods
Delivers in calmness still
Despite in still air
Heights high above limits
With limits below ground level.
Gazes out with command
Sharp eyes so focused
Behind & beyond the canopy of trees.
Careful surveillance I command.
Sun above is my superior
Below is my kingdom
I rule with authority
Devious are caught & devoured.
Watchful I rule with strict supremacy
I am the Yak Kambi - Eagle
A nice image of the eagle you have delivered to us Leo.
This poem reminds me of a favourite by Alfred, Lord Tennyson
The Eagle
He clasps the crag with crooked hands;
Close to the sun in lonely lands,
Ring'd with the azure world, he stands.
The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls;
He watches from his mountain walls,
And like a thunderbolt he falls.
