Great article Chis. And it's worth noting that the fabrication of the stories on the Kokoda track for a PR stunt were first revealed in blogs like PNG Attitude.

And as for the AFP operating in PNG, 10 years ago they set up a little HQ with a VSAT link back to Australia when they had a mission to support the RPNG.

Unfortunately they hadn't greased the right palms in PNG Telekom and there was a raid and the suspicious satellite dish was consigned to the Baruni dump amidst allegations of spying, amply fuelled by the self-serving and outrageous claims of Luther Wenge.
