THANKS to the Papua New Guinea Association of Australia – which provided a significant grant to assist publish the Crocodile Prize Anthology 2014 – copies of this wonderful 500-page book are now being distributed throughout PNG.
Now we’ve come up with a great scheme that you PNG readers may be able to help with.
We will provide you with 10 copies of the Anthology – free of charge and to be handed out freely – if you are one of the lucky winners of this competition.
The Anthology contains the best stories, poetry, essays and journalism from the Crocodile Prize contest. And every one of them is about Papua New Guinea.
This is all you have to do:
(1) Tell us where you would like to distribute the books
(2) Tell us why these places should be given books
(3) Provide us with your name and postal address
Winners will also be permitted to keep a copy of the Anthology for themselves
The kind of places where books could be distributed are any places where lots of people might be able to read them: libraries (of course), schools, universities, hospitals, aid posts, politicians’ offices…. You can work it out.
The people with the best distribution ideas will be sent 10 free copies of the book (worth about K200) from our printers in the United States.
Send your emails to me here responding to the three points mentioned above, and we’ll let the lucky winners know that the books are on the way when the competition ends in about two weeks’ time.
