Dedicated to my better half, my mother, Susan
I couldn’t put words to describe you
I couldn’t compare you to anything in this world
The scent of the most beautiful flowers could not equate
The magnitude of the universe, could not measure
The womb from which I came from
Fabricated by unreserved love
Peerless to anything alive
You are mine
The bust of enrichment
From which I gained life
Merely entailing wholesomeness
You are mine
The hands that mould me
Healing every graze, every contusion
With pure heed and intention
You are mine
The mouth that guide me
Steering every option
Without judgement but a whisper
You are mine
The feet that walked grave miles
Gracing all roads to life and wisdom
To educate me, to protect me
You are mine
Why put words to describe you
Why compare you to anything in this world
Your scent is solitary
You are my Universe, You are mine
This poem is amazing...I never appreciated what my mum had done in my life due to personal reasons but this poem has hit me hard.
To all kids out there better now than never to tell your mom you love her because you never know what what might happen.
Treasure the moments spent with her and never forget. Regretting is not what you want in the future.
A question to you all, what have you done for your mother? Do you try best every day to make her at least smile.
Remember a mother's love is the greatest.

This poem is truly inspiring. I just couldn't imagine living without a mother. I believe if mothers didn't exist this world is gonna crush.
Mothers are a very unique group of people. They are a species that is rare .Ooops!! I honestly am running out of descriptive words. Anyway, let us thank God for our mothers.

Words could never and will never describe the love of mothers. Mothers are the very best and special people in this world. It is very beautiful poetry indeed.
Not all can express and show the gratitude of their mother openly. We all have our own little way of saying we thank you and love you. There will be days when saying sorry will be so difficult.
Let us all treasure our mothers for who they are and what they have done for us.

Lapieh, your poetry is always so well grounded in the reality of life and what is dear to you. Well done.
This is a great topic to write on and I can see this idea going to some interesting places creatively.
I hope you checked out the ghazal link on my last footnote post. I think you'd do very well with that form. But if you don't like it, then no matter.
I love that example provided from Agha Shahid Ali - if you're not averse to learning from a Muslim.

Wonderful poem written by Labieh Landu, well done!Mothers are special. We dont realize it until we become one.We value our mothers becouse of who they are.Mothers potrays everything that words cannot express, they are your backbone of life! They treasure us when we are still in the womb(they make decision for our life),they feed us(to make sure we are nourished),they provide security(so we are safe). They are our Life or Death.
But what treatment do we give back to all our mothers. We've seen in the media, with our own eyes women are the worst target for Domestic Violence and Rape. How can we really appriciate our mothers if we are abusing the one on the road!Try to value all our mothers and sisters.

The saying that goes 'words can't express'. We have alot of things we treasure in life. Mothers are a very special creation of God. God made mothers with very special and unique. Sometimes we don't appreciate what our mothers have done to us. We only come to miss and realise the things they do to us when they are gone forever.
We can describe and think of the goods things about mothers, but it sad that many don't express these to them. There are different ways in which we can express our love and appreciation to the people we care most about, and one of which is through poetry. This is very nice poem!

Nice poetry indeed, as one of the receivers of the Crocodile Prize 2012. Keep writing as writers are great thinkers.

Thanks Lapieh Landu for the wonderful poem towards our mothers.
I want to appreciate and say thank you for your time and effort to come up with such a wonderful poem.
Our mothers can be regarded as something very special and important in our lives. They are the ones who brought us into this world and they are the ones who mould us and shaped us to be the person who we are now.
Therefore we have to provide good care towards our mothers. We have to treat them in a way that they have treated us while we were small kids.
I want to appeal to those of us who mistreat our mothers. We have to stop and think before we do bad things to our mothers.
Thanks Lapieh for that wonderful poem. I appreciate the poem.
