ABC reports tonight on renewed violence by Indonesia against the KMPV (West Papua Independence Movement). Many people tortured and killed.

Reports say that its an elaborate set up. The new commander of Detachment 88 (which is the secret unit involved) is a known hard man, famous for set-ups against separatists.

Detachment 88 was trained by Australia.

Good one Carr, Rudd and Howard.

Note the utterly shameful performance of the Australian Senate last week, which voted against a motion of condolence for the refugee advocate Vikki Riley who tragically died in a Darwin accident recently.

Vikki has been an advocate for human rights in West Papua, and the original condolence motion made mention of this. Both the Government and opposition were so desperate not to have any mention of West Papua recorded in Hansard that they voted against the motion.

When the Government and opposition are both scared of officially recording the words "West Papua" in a Senate motion, then there's buckley's chance of Australia ever addressing the situation seriously.
