BY DAVID GONOL
This is the poem I wrote to my girlfriend. I basically meant it to be a warning. I wrote it in such a manner because she had written to me stating that many men were approaching her with wealth, fame, and power to marry her. Thus I basically warned her not to be attracted towards such men. I also assured her that I would shine like star for her forever. But you know what…she has not been faithful and so I terminated my relationship with her - dg
There are so many stars in the sky that are
Radiant enough to catch your attention;
But among those that you choose to ignore
Is that one star which is willing to continue
Shining for you, even if your glance remains elsewhere.
There are so many people in this world that seem
To be loving enough to catch your attention;
But among those that you choose to ignore is that
One who is willing to continue shining for you,
Even if your glance remains elsewhere.
Others may confront you or lure you or;
Others may come to you with fame or;
Others may come to you with riches of this world or;
Others may come to you with promises;
But I just come to you just as I am.
My love, be at peace and patience – I’ll come to you soon
And then we’ll elope to the furthest sky and there we’ll
Glow together like a radiant star with full brilliance.
This is our secret; this is our promise…between us,
Just the two of us, no more, but just you and me.
