DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS/MÉDECINS SANS FRONTIÈRES
MÉDECINS SANS FRONTIÈRES (MSF) is again working in the Autonomous province of Bougainville after a 10-year absence.
The humanitarian organisation has established a base in Buin, in south Bougainville, soon to be expanded to five other centres.
The comprehensive care project features a maternal health program and a specialised tuberculosis ward. Teams work along side the health authorities to help build the island's local healthcare capacity.
