FORMER PRIME MINISTER has accused the current government of breaching the country's constitution.
Sir Michael Somare believes the formation of the new government, led by Peter O'Neill, was unconstitutional.
He made the comments during cross-examination in the Special Supreme Court in Port Moresby on Friday.
In giving evidence, he also said he was not consulted ahead of the announcement made by his son earlier this year.
While Sir Michael was being treated in a Singapore hospital in August, his son Arthur announced that that his father would step down as Prime Minister.

Yes, I can agree with the deposed Sir Michael that the current government is unconstitutional.
But, the question is whether this is the first time in our history that an unlawful act has been carried out by Waigani.
The current government's voice is a sort of fresh air for many of us and it's doing fine.
Sir Michael, stap isi pastem.
