PRIME MINISTER Peter O’Neill says the Fijian prime minister’s and government’s ‘commitment show [we] all have a common understanding’.
He added that PNG will work closely with Fiji and assist in whatever way it can.
Leaders and delegates of the 11 Pacific countries who attended the Engaging with the Pacific meeting in Nadi reaffirmed that Fiji’s Strategic Framework for Change is a credible home-grown process for positioning Fiji as a modern nation.
They also said it provides a sound basis for holding parliamentary elections.
They emphasised the importance of Fiji’s engagement with the region and its full participation in regional development initiatives and programs.
The leaders also supported the need to publicise and disseminate more and accurate information on the Fiji government’s progress.
The next Engaging with the Pacific meeting will also be hosted again by Fiji next year.
