Great story Mathias. The questions you pose about PNG's political leadership and the obvious destination of continuing along the current path are spot on. Many on either side of the Torres Strait are wondering exactly the same thoughts.

Like a chrysalis about to emerge, PNG is on the cusp of revealing what she will in future look like and which way she will decide to fly.

However people now must stop asking questions and start working at making a better future. As the old saying goes 'the place to find a helping hand is to look at the end of your arm'.

We all love to fantasise about there being a middle road where the problems we face are someone else's and we don't have an equal responsibility to do something. But when the going gets tough, the tough get going.
